Biography
In the fall of 1991, Kenny Boone held his first exhibition of watercolor paintings of Cape Breton landscapes. The success of his first showing encouraged him to continue his work.
A painting entitled "Dominion Boardwalk" from his first exhibition was presented as a Limited Edition lithograph and sold out within the first year. Others followed and reproductions and paintings are found across the nation...a nostalgic reminder of the Island.
Kenny's success is the result of many hours at his craft. A background in commerical art and technical drawing contributes to the explicit detail that is apparent in his compositions. More recent works capture the innocence of children, the dancer and people on the street. Just when you feel you know his work, Kenndy surprises you with a new impression.
His work has been featured in many venues and galleries including Spectrum Art Galley in Halifax, Lyghtsome Gallery in Antigonish and in his studio in Dominion, Cape Breton. His work has since appeared in private collections in Australia, Germany, United States, and throughout Canada.
