Biography
JOACHIM GAUTHIER, OSA, RCA, CSPWC
(1897-1988)
Born near North Bay, Ontario. He was initiated into the Brotherhood of Painters, Decorators and Paperhangers of America. He learned silkscreen printing techniques at Tuckett Tobacco Co. in Hamilton, then spent 37 years with Sampson-Matthews Limited in Toronto working with artists such as Franklin Carmichael, A.J. Casson, Herbert Palmer, Syd Hallam, Tom McLean, Syd Watson, Eric Aldwinkle, John Clymer, Harold Shaw, Fred Haines and LAC Panton, JEH MacDonald, and A.Y. Jackson.
