Bruce's love of Cromwell Central Otago lead to several visits there and with the help of friends Noel and Alex King arranged a solo exhibit and started selling work in the area. This also lead to several commission works and Bruce sold over 30 paintings of the area.
These were paintings mainly of old Cromwell , the old stone buildings and well known land marks from the gold rush era. Bruce also started working in pencil and produced several drawings that were soon purchased by the locals keen to have his work depicting this area.
